A Look Into The Arts Essay Example for Free
A Look Into The Arts EssayArt is angiotensin converting enzyme aspect of the past that has carried on for decades. Art in any form may it be poetry, novels, and playwright, sculpting as well up as painting, has been an electric outlet for generations and continues to be an outlet and a means for expression. This paper volition discuss The Mona Lisa bingle of Da Vincis most famous paintings, as well as another heavy(p) painting, Antonio Venezianos Virgin and Child(c. 1380). Both paintings focus on the human race form and exhibit many variations of styles from lines, shading, color and possible meanings behind the work. The first fleck of stratagemwork that will be looked is from the Renaissance Era. Da Vincis Mona Lisa(c. 1519) a painting that is known around the world, which has been known to cause skepticism as to who is this woman. Did she unfeignedly exist? Or is this merely a self-portrait that Da Vinci was able to showing his private devotion for the female for m? The second piece of graphicswork that will be discussed is from The plaza Ages.Antonio Venezianos Virgin and Child(c. 1380) both pieces of art work stem from different eras but share many commonalities as well as shows the transformation of art techniques from Sfumato, to perspective, as well as linear perspective, Humanism, foreshortening and more between each era. In the Early Renaissance Era, artists from Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael Sanzio, Piero della Francesca, Sandro Botticelli and more, certain a passion and ability to realise art that could capture a moment may it be a beautiful moment or tragic moment. These artists were also able spark creativity and question in the human mind as to what is or was and why.Much like the middle Ages, art from both eras focused on religious forms, humanism, from the finite details of a lock of hair to the muscle tone. The Renaissance era developed the linear perspective to render depth and angles in work, though the Middle Ages ope ned the door for linear perspective to be created. Most visualiseions from the Middle Ages showed a human form that was stiff and schematic, like a rough draft that was never completed. However art from the Renaissance Era had a profound effect on European art. Lilian H. Zirpolo (SNHU. Chapter 8. 2012 FAS 201, foundation garment to Humanities I.) Stated The outburst of creativity of the era, resulted in the most influential artistic revolution ever to have taken place. There was so oft depth and thought put into Renaissance art that it was the stepping-stone for all who dared to create. Da Vinci s the Mona Lisa(c.1519) holds Miss. Zirpolos statement to be true. When viewing the piece, one can cover the exquisite line work and Foreshortening, to linear perspective. This art form shows his attention to detail and his passion for his work. The Mona Lisa (c.1519) is a small piece of artwork that became rattling popular. To this solar day the Mona Lisa(c.1519) still triumphs over Michelangelos Creation Of Adam (c.1511), which became a part of the Sistine Chapel.(C.1512) When one views The Mona Lisa they can see the dark color scale that is used, perhaps to depict an unhappy quantify. Da Vinci through out this piece is able to use an aerial perspective within the background of this portrait. Da Vinci was the first artist to successfully depict an aerial perspective. Da Vinci also uses Sfumato in his negative set by blending, blurring and softening the landscape, this technique is used to create a gradual passing between areas of different color, avoiding sharp outlines, to which I believe was done as to not take away the focal point in his positive space of the canvas.Another great aspect to the Mona Lisa is that is demonstrates the art of science discoveries that came to fruition in the Renaissance period, which is that they were able to acknowledge how the eye perceives light, thusly how light reacts with colors and how the human eye adapts to the change in color and light. So why is that of any significance in art? Well when one takes a painting such as the Mona Lisa once can see how the color gradation changes to separate the neck and face from her clothing. It creates more of a realistic feel to the art. The Middle Ages on the other hand focused on two-dimensional compositions, their depictions of humans were frail and stiff, and the human art form was inert. (SNHU. The Middle Ages. 2012 FAS 201, Introduction to Humanities I.) Like art from the Renaissance, they also focused a lot on Religion, saint hood and humans. In fact it depicted the importance of humans based on the surface they were painted or sculpted. It focused on women and paragon, as the two were of major importance at the time. Woman we scared and givers of carriage and love, their beauty was unfounded and they were cherished. God was the almighty and the one who created a life form that woman were there to carry on the tradition, so to speak. Is it believed thro ugh the Bible and studies that Jesus was born into this world as a miracle from a virgin. So Antonio Venezianos Virgin and Child(c. 1380) upholds that belief and leaves room for discussion. In the early times of God and Mary and the expect of Christ it was believed that Immaculate Conception was possible, as pre-martial sex was a sin. So to have depictions of such a scene may make one admiration if it was at all possible at one point in time. This picture depicts a Virgin mother coddling her newborn, both are pictured with a halo above their heads which signifies the importance of their religion and the acceptance of religion into not only their life but into Gods life. As you can see here as well as in the Mona Lisa there is a contrast between light and dark as to separate the two bodies and distinguish the Virgin from the Child. In a personal opinion in the color choice of the Virgin as compared to the Child, I would say that light colors are used for the fry because he is born pure and free from sin, where as the Virgin is with sin and thusly wears a dark robe.Art from the middle ages depicts religious events, because it was the basis of life at the time. Most art from that time were done by artists who either choose to or had to be anonymous, they we for the most part two dimensional pieces of art work with a single color background, which when looking at Antonio Venezianos Virgin and Child(c. 1380) one can see how this, the background is primarily one color, it has been shaded to show detail in the halo and architect, but holds close to the standard for Middle Aged era art. though the painting is set fourth to show a natural pose of a mother and child, the line work and attention to detail in the human form lacks. This painting though a well painted, blends the line work of the bodies making the figures seem almost uncomfortable in their poses. The colors used in this painting may foreshadow an unhappier time for the two, as dark colors tend to represen t tragic, mournful and displeased events. As one can see the Mona Lisa from the Renaissance and the Virgin and Child from the Middle Ages, share many similarities in terms of their impressions of humans. Both eras focus their art on humanism, religious, two and three dimensional works of art, the hatching used to create depth and more dimensions. Both the Renaissance and the Middle Ages have very different ways of executing the precision of the human form. The Renaissance paid very close attention to detail, the line work that is depicted in the human form is natural and lifelike, and where as artists from the Middle Ages who painted humans were stiff and motionless. Though both Eras have great works of art, it was the Renaissance that had more of a well-rounded and idealistic way of executing their work, thusly making it one of the conk out Eras for art.Resources PageSNHU. Team Work Essay Essay Example for Free
Team Work Essay EssayTeam cultivate is defined as the process of instituteing collaboratively with a group of people in order to achieve a goal. A successful squad involves item-by-items who can make believe well together, trying their best in any circumstance to achieve that one main goal that they make set out to achieve. Teamwork intend that people will try to cooperate, using their individual skills and providing constructive feedback, despite any personal conflict between among themselves. In every team, all members should possess qualities such as honesty, dependability and accountability. Team work may sometimes be challenging because every team has their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (S.W.O.T), but for team work to be effective, for each one team should objective for S.M.A.R.T, this means they should aim at goals that be particular proposition, measurable, achievable, and lifelike and spend time to perform the tasks necessary for the succes s of that teams goal. Teams that possess individuals who are honest, dependable and accountable are teams that are more likely to strive. Team members should be honest towards their colleagues, because honesty is a good key characteristic of a good team member, beingness honest can only uplift a group, same goes for being able to accept constructive criticism.Honesty builds trust and strong bonds among team members allowing for them to be able to work together in a friendly environment. Dependable team members have a strong sense of responsibility, being dependable means that you should be available and reliable. Any individual whom is unable to provide the work they are selected to do by their due date, is classified as an individual who is not dependable, it therefore means each team member should be proactive and consistent. If you cannot depend on a team member all of the time, you cannot depend on them any of the time. Having the ability to need responsibility for your bear action, rather than blaming others is one quality that many persons whether in or outside of a team should learn, accountability. cosmos accountable means that you ac knowledge your mistakes and decisions, who will be held accountable for any mishaps or failures? The best teams hold themselves accountable, every single team member and not just the leader. Every team should create S.M.A.R.T goals in order to achieve optimal success.Having specific goals are easier to achieve than general ones, to know if yourgoals are specific they must answer the six W questions, these are who, what, where, when, why and which. Measurability involves the teams effort to measure their progress, to stay on track, they need to fake dates on which they will complete a specific task and ensure they meet those target dates. Goals that are measurable answers the questions of how much, how many and how will I know when it is accomplished. It is possible for teams to plan for something that is unattainable as such team members should think about whether are not their goals can be achieved if they work hard large taking in consideration the time that they have to achieve something. In order to set attainable goals they must also be realistic, a realistic goal is based on your abilities, interests, needs, and desires they should be attainable and it should be something you really want to achieve.Never leave work to last minute, time management is key, as such every project should have been completed before hand to be checked and corrected if needed, it therefore means that a time invest should be established for team members if there is no time frame set then there will be no efforts to get the work done. S.W.O.T is what is used to describe a groups internal and external aspects, with strengths and weaknesses being internal and opportunities and threats being external. There is always going to be strengths in every team, what someone might be strong at in one category may be weak in another and as such, this leads to team members doing specialized work, meaning every team member can contribute to the final work by doing what they are good at doing. As well as strengths there is weaknesses also, not everyone will be able to do what each member is expected and as such it is the teams duty to allocate a task to that individual in which he/she can manage. It is not the teams duty to complain and discourage their team members, instead help and encourage. Opportunities include the chance for progress or advancement, this means if members are accustomed the chance to improve the work given then they should take it and make the best use of it. If one group member is given a task and has the opportunity to add to the work aside from what he/she was given to do or decided to do, then he/she should take the initiative to do so. In many cases there will be threats to the work or to team members that could cease the process of completing the work or temporarily stopping the completion of the work which will defeat the purpose of being time-bound.In such a case the thing or person that islikely causing danger or damage should be discussed among team members and each should become up with a conclusion as to how best to deal with the situation and how to execute their work differently. The success of every team is dependent on individuals who have the drive to achieve the same goals. Team work requires everybodys efforts and time to plan S.M.A.R.T goals and stick to those goals.Teams need to be grounded on trust as such honesty is always the best policy, colleagues should be there for their team members as best as they can and be able to be held accountable for their own mistakes. Team work should be less about me and more about we. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and as such team members should make it their responsibility to uplift and encourage each other. Through multiple personalities teams can enhance great ideas and everyones opinions and views must be respected. Threats are always a problem in team work but with communication that can be defeated.

A Study On Unethical Behavior In Sport Sport Essay
A Study On Unhonorable Behavior In Sport Sport EssayThe nearly important thing in the Olympic Games is non winning merely taking patch the essential thing in life is non stamp down still fighting well. This phrase was said by the founder of the Olympics, Baron Pierre de Coubertin. Where has this Olympic message g star to? Nowadays, it seems like e actuallyone is solely interested in the medals. Where is the motto of the Olympics Citius, altius, fortius swifter, higher, stronger, which can be interpreted as striving to beat ones personal best (Introduction Its not the, 2010). When I was younger, and salve competing, I remember hoi polloi telling me that it is not important to win, but to take part. Nowadays, diversion is all about money. If you contain money, you can be better, stronger and more successful. moreover what about the ethical issue? Is todays sport with all the money, commercialization, drug ab economic consumption and bribing still ethical? Can we be sure tha t the winner is really the best, not comely the one who paid off the referees, or the one who has taken performance enhancing drugs? In my opinion, sport in general has become more about the money than the original competition within the fine-play and has gone far beyond what was whatsoevertimes called a celebration of the fittest, therefore wrong behavior in sport industry has change magnitude rapidly. Competition by itself is not unethical. It is normal that the success in the competition be rewarded. Competition is essential to sport as a close motivator it pushes each individual to strive for his/her best. Celebrating achievement is to a fault not unethical either, but it can drive some competitors to unethical behavior (Introduction Its not the, 2010). In current sport industry, there atomic number 18 many forms of unethical behavior dumbfounding from players and referees all the trend to the media and fans. At first, we need to clarify what the fair play means, as a synonym to ethics in sport. In sport fair play means using tho tactics that argon in accord with the spirit of the sport. Unfortunately, many athletes do not follow this fair play rules to achieve the victory, but use other unfair methods, sometimes dubious but legal, sometimes illegal. PlayersThese days, professional players, athletes or sportsmen earn gigantic amounts of money. They do not only represent themselves as individual, but many times, they are the icons of certain brands. These brands create multi-million contracts with athletes in order to connect their brand with excellent performance of the athletes. Therefore, these athletes are put under marvellous pressure, not only from their teams, but also from their sponsors. Besides this fact, many of the professional athletes represent the icons, or are role models to many young people all over the world, so the pressure is even bigger. This creates fertile conditions for unethical behavior, sometimes unintentionally, so metimes on purpose. Being unfair, does not have to necessarily mean illegal, but it can still be referred to as cheating. Such forms of cheating may be distracting your opponents during the game or the race by saying different rude things to your opponents, also misrepresenting ones skills is some other technique, where you make your opponent over or underestimate you, which may benefit the athlete. These examples are not against the rules, but certainly could be referred to as unethical behavior. another(prenominal) example of unethical behavior especially favorite among football players is called faking or simulation of the foul. This has been in incorporatedd in to the rules of football because of the frequent misuse by players (Rules and Regulations, 2010). The about concerned unethical behavior among players is using performance enhancing drugs. This form of cheating is illegal, and doping controls cost international federations lots of money. Performance enhancing drugs are any substance taken to perform better athletically, or are also called anabolic steroid hormones (Performance-Enhancing Drug, n.d.). The taking of much(prenominal) drugs not only enhances your performance, but it causes serious health problems. This issue is not only a problem of health of the abusers, but these athletes are role models for many young people, so if the case reveals, young people can counterpart their models in order to win. We are living in a very competitive world with everyone trying to push the borders. That is why many people start using drugs they are unable to keep up with the others, who might also use doping. There is a long list of forbidden substances created by anti-doping agencies, but there is still a big controversy. Some of the medically prescribed drugs contain forbidden substances and even this is being mis utilise (Guler, 2003). Taking drugs is unethical, but also very questionable, because the use of enhancement substances dates back to Ancient Greek, where athletes were taking some natural products to enhance their performance (Performance-Enhancing Drug, n.d.). There are debates, to create devil categories of sport, one refined and another one where steroids will be allowed. Cycling is one of the sports where doping is use. Lance Armstrong has been accused several times for using such drugs, but it has never been confirmed. Many people conceive of he must have taken something, because of his extraordinary performance at The Tour de France. Another case with the use of doping was revealed in 2003, it was the biggest doping cover up. In the 1988 Seoul Olympics, Ben Johnson, a Canadian sprinter, won a gold medal in a World record. But later, he was positively tested on a forbidden substance, so the medal was taken from him and given to Carl Lewis, the American athlete. But 15 years later, it was revealed that 19 American athletes who had not passed the drug tests were allowed to compete at Olympic Games from 1988 to 200 0. Among them was Carl Lewis, who was given the gold medal, after Ben Johnson was disqualified (10 Drug scandals, 2003). As we can see in the table below, the number of athletes that failed the drug tests has an increasing potential. This is not a good sign for the sport, it gives bad impression. Many athletes that failed the tests publicly claim that the others are using it as well they just have not got caught yet.I have had a personal experience with unethical behavior of players. When I was a cross land skier, I heard about some of my colleagues taking some kind of performance enhancing substances. I refused to be like them, because I believe in clean sport, and it was against my values and principles, but on the other hand, I was never the best. I destine this is the issue of taking such drugs, which some people, even if they prepare, and train their hardest, never win, so they are frustrated and agree to take these drugs to equal to their competitors.RefereesIn this group, b ribery is very common and unethical practice. Referees are also exposed to enormous pressure since there is a lot of money convoluted in the sport, therefore winning can sometimes be achieved by other vogue then just a matter of chance. If the team is about to fall out of the first league, or it is a very important match, referees might be bribed to make decisions in favor of only one party. Mostly this is the case in countries were referees have low salaries, therefore they are very vulnerable to aim a bribe. Referees should be honest, and their top value should not be money, otherwise they are very likely to be bribed (Guler, 2003). Referee can also bring the game unintentionally, without being bribed. It is because referees are also only humans, and humans make mistakes. In some sports, referees have to make decisions in milliseconds, where technology is being used to attention the referees out if they are not sure about the call. In hockey for example, there is also a vide o referee, in cases the main referees on the ice do not see what happened. Also in tennis, a new technological feature was introduced, a Hawk-eye, which is an electronic line-calling system. This feature is used when a tennis player challenges the line call. The questioned call is replayed on the screen, and the new call is then made (TENNIS Hawk-Eye, 2007). Many people would like to see such feature in football, where a video- referee would be included, and there would also be cameras inside the net to show whether the ball passes the line or not in disputable cases. Betting is another situation, when referees are being paid off. There was one case in the NBA, where a referee was pleaded guilty in 2007 for receiving $ 5000 bribe in a betting case (NBA Referee Tim Donaghy, 2007). MediaTelevision and the radio are also to be blamed for unethical behavior in sport. These two are the main form of commercializing the entire sport industry. The entire pressure we talked about before is d erived from the media advertising and commercializing. It is questionable to what extent does the media tell the the true about the player or the team. The evaluations from the media can be biased as well. A private television can be a partner of a sport team, and they can intentionally create a better picture for their viewers about that concrete team. This is also very unethical. Sport journalist or commentators can favor one team or the other, and his evaluation of this team can be biased compared to the reality, and so the public may perceive it this way too. Media can very easily destroy the whole reputation of certain player or entire team (Guler, 2003). On one side, it is good to have media, because we can watch many different matches all over the world, but on the other side, the pressure of the media on the industry is enormous. While I was in the United States, I went to an American football match. I remember nonre Dame was playing against the Navy. It was a great experi ence for me, but what surprised me, that the game was break by the referee, for the advertisement in the media. I thought it was kind of annoying, an also unfair for both teams of the game, because they were interrupted in the middle of the action. FansThis group is also machine-accessible to sport ethics, even though fans do not get any money from the actual sport, instead they have to pay to watch it. Some groups think that if they pay for the match, they have the right to act against the rules. For some fans it is hard to understand that not only their team must win, but also the opponent has the equal chance to win. There are fans that believe everything is fair for their team to win, which is different from supporting the team. Such fans are called hooligans or ultras in Slovakia, and their actions are sometimes very unethical. Such fans are many times very aggressive either towards referees, players, innocent fans, or also to the property around (Guler, 2003). In Slovakia, it was this years ice- hockey play-offs between Slovan Bratislava and HC Kosice, where the Slovan fans pulled out a transparent with this heading Julo, is it true your girlfriend has cheated on you? Julo is a Kosices goalkeeper, and I know personally his girlfriend. I think this was very unethical, very offending. Such a behavior should not be present at sporting events, because it is against fair play. This might be a unsuccessful person of the organizers, and also of the law, because it is sometimes ridiculous, what the hooligans are capable of.As mentioned above, the sport environment is becoming more and more connected with unethical behavior. Sport as such, should be creating unity, promoting values and community pride. It can affect peoples lives and therefore, everyone involved in sport from coaches, parents, athletes, fans to referees should try to make it as fair and enjoyable as possible. Not only rules are important in sport, but also values and morals. It is essential f or the coaches to teach their athletes what behavior is good and fair, because people have different values, and some of them cannot even distinguish between what is good and what is bad. According to Ms. Sandler, these four values are the most importantin sport ethics fairness, integrity, respect and integrity (Sandler, 2009). Integrity, according to Cambridge dictionary, means having strong moral principles that you refuse to change. Fairness means to treat people fairly and equally. Equity in a message that everyone should be treated equally, and finally respect athletes should treat others with honor. In order to be ethical while enrolling in sport activity, these steps should be remembered eminence cannot be owned. Everyone can get a hold of it, but not for ever. Dont give up after the bad game. Bad games should only make us more prepared. Success does not have to mean happiness in sport. If you do not find self- respect, you will not be happy. Successful athletes do not h ave enemies. We should respect our competitors, rather than looking for ways how to attack them (Sandler, 2009).As I suggested in the introduction, I think sport has become unethical. While in the past, in the ancient Greece, when there were Olympics, no wars were allowed, everyone was celebrating the beauty and the art of sport. People were cheering all together, and when the winner came up, they treated him with respect. impertinent today, when we have Olympic Games, we are worried about the terrorist attacks and anti-doping controls have to be run to ensure the fair-play. I am against the doping or any other steroid use, therefore I support the clean sport without any performance enhancing drugs. I think there should be more serious penalties for abusing drugs. It should be part of our educational system to educate young children about the cons of using such substances. Also the morality in sport and ethics in general call for to be improved. Nowadays people, young kids especia lly are being very aggressive towards each other, which leads to similar consequences as mentioned. Fans fight against the fans of other clubs, people are afraid to go to a football match with their kids. I also think sport should not be sponsored so much by corporate businesses, and the salaries and transfer fees should be much lower. I think it is unbelievable, how much money some of the best players or athletes earn. If we imagine there are people on this planet that do not have their basic needs satisfied, it is against the logic. On the other hand, there are people supporting doping and the use of steroids in sport, claiming that they trust to see the borders of human ability to be pushed, and so are supportive. There are even people who would choose to die earlier, from the side effects of the steroids, just to be the best, to feel the glory.Ethics in sport is very important. Our culture has created this competitive hatred against each other along with all the money involved i n the present form of sport. Sport can have a huge influence on people therefore we should try to stop the unethical issues around it. We have to understand that it is not possible to win every time. What is important to learn is how to handle losing in a way it can help us in the future. Even if we lose, it is important to show respect to our competitors. We, the people on Earth have caused this turn-over of what was sometimes a celebration, to so called sport adept of hatred, jealousy and shortcuts, therefore it is up to the mankind to decide which way are we going to follow.References10 Drug Scandals.
